Baseball … Outstanding all-round player, great base stealer. National NAIA stolen base champion twice: 1969 and 1971, stealing 51 bases each year. Stole an FSC record of 118 bases in his 3 seasons, being caught only 17 times. Played professional ball in the Cincinnati Reds organization in 1972, thereby ending his college career a year early. A switch hitting third baseman-outfielder, Oscar had the following career statistics: .318 bating average, 109 hits, 103 games, 122 runs scored, 38 RBI’s, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homeruns, and 66 walks. His seasonal batting averages were .342, .290, and .320. His 122 runs in his career and his 46 runs in both 1969 and 1971 tied for FSC records at the time of his induction. An exceptional defensive player, he earned three letters in three seasons.

Basketball … Renowned for his great defense, ball handling, and quickness, Oscar was a starting guard in both of his years. In 1970-71, he was a member of the FSC team that finished 24-4 and went to the NAIA District playoffs. He scored 131 and 177 points and earned two letters in two seasons.
