Maria Ferguson was a three-time All-American and is a seven-event school record holder following an outstanding three-year career for the Frostburg State women’s track & field team from 2000-03.
The 2003 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mideast Regional Outdoor Female Athlete of the Year, Ferguson earned All-American honors in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes as a sophomore in 2002. She garnered her first All-American honor after taking third place in the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Championships as a freshman in 2001.
A 21-time All-Mason-Dixon Conference selection, Ferguson holds seven school records, including the 100-meter dash (12.03) and 200-meter dash (24.71) during the outdoor season.
On the indoor record list, she currently holds the program’s best times in the 55-meter dash (7.22), 60-meter dash (7.55), 200-meter dash (25.69), 400-meter dash (57.73) and 500-meter dash (1:18.57).
Ferguson totaled eight Mason-Dixon Conference Championships, including three in the 100-meter dash, two in both the 55-meter and 400-meter dashes and one 200-meter dash title.
