In his first year with the cross country team in ’83, Holder was named an NCAA All-Mideast Region selection after finishing eighth and he followed that up with All-Americans honors after taking 17th-place at the National Championship meet.
In two years with the track & field team in ’83 and ’84, Holder earned two Mason-Dixon Conference Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and twice qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the same event, finishing seventh in 1983.
