Sheila Colbert was one of the greatest women's basketball players ever at Frostburg State. She graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer (1,960 points) and rebounder (1,174 rebounds), and she set career records with 833 field goals made, 1,702 field goal attempts and a 17.6 scoring average.
At the time of her induction, she also ranked second in school history in free throw percentage (74.4), third in both field goal percentage (48.9) and free throws made (294) and fourth in free throws attempted (395).
Colbert enjoyed her finest season as a sophomore, earning ESAC Player of the Year honors after establishing single-season school records with 633 points, 395 rebounds, 279 field goals made, 542 field goals attempted and a 23.4 scoring average. She also set a Bobcat single-game mark with 42 points against Catholic.
Colbert was named the ESAC Player of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 1991, and she was an ECAC Division III South Region First Team selection in 1990. As a senior, she averaged 19.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, led the Bobcats to the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs and was named to the NCAA Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team.
Overall, Colbert helped the Bobcats to an 84-27 record, two ECAC South Region Championships, one ESAC title and one NCAA Division III Tournament appearance.
