Leonard Wright is one of the most highly decorated sprinters in the historic Frostburg State University track & field program.

Despite running for just two years, Wright is a six-time All-American and was a member of both the 1986 and 1987 4x100-meter National Championship relay teams. Wright helped the 1986 4x100-meter relay team set an NCAA national meet record of 40.39, a mark that lasted for nearly 15 years until 2000.

Wright, a seven-time All-Mason Dixon Conference selection, helped Frostburg State win the 1986 and 1987 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championship team trophies.

Wright and his teammates currently hold school records in both the 4x100-meter (40.39) and the 4x200-meter (1:25.90) relays.

He earned a pair of individual All-American honors in the 100 and 200-meter dashes during the 1986 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He also totaled four All-American awards as part of the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams in both 1986 and 1987.
