Baseball … Honorable Mention, N.A.I.A. All-American three years-1965, 1966, and 1967, each year at a different position- (shortstop, outfielder, and catcher). Career bating average of .368, highest in FSC history at the time of his induction to the Bobcat Hall of Fame. Only player in Frostburg History to bat over .400 twice (.467 in 1965 and .403 in 1967). Led the team in most offensive categories throughout his career. Team MVP in 1967. Howard’s .467 B.A. in 1965 ranked 13th in the N.A.I.A. and was the second highest season average in FSC history at the time of induction. Played all nine positions during his career at FSC.

Basketball … As a basketball player for 2 years, Howard was a starting guard. Scored 38 points in a game in 1967-68 season. Had 342 points in his career.

Letters … Earned four letters in baseball and two in basketball.
