Track … Four letters in Four seasons. Mason-Dixon Conference champion 6 times in her last two years. In 1979 she won the M-D indoor 300-yd. Run and mile relay and the outdoor 400, mile relay and 440-yard relay. In 1980 she won the 880-yd. run. She did not run in the 1980 outdoor M-D meet to enter the EAIAW Open Meet instead, but was the Conference favorite in the 800.

Ran in the EAIAW Open in her first three years, placing 6th in the 1977 440, 5th in the 1978 400 and 6th in the 1978 medley relay, and 5th in the 1979 mile relay. The EAIAW was a regional championship open to Division I, II, and III athletes.
In her senior year she was team captain, named the team’s Outstanding Runner and the Outstanding Senior Athlete, and competed in the 880 in the 1980 Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. She also was the team captain in 1978.

In Davidson Relays, Diane set meet records in the 100-yd. dash and the 440-yd. run.
During her four years Diane established and sometimes reset FSC records in the 440 relay, sprint medley, mile relay, 440, indoor 300, 880, 440, medley relay and 800. At the same time of her induction, she held records in the 300, 800 and sprint medley. Diane competed in the years immediately preceding the establishment of the national Division III championships. Her 1980 time of 2:10.4 would have won the national championship of 1983 by three seconds and earned her All-American honors as well.

Field Hockey … Three seasons as a wing; J.V. in 1977 and 1978; a varsity performer in 1980.
