Steve Schleupner was a National Champion and four-time All-American for the Frostburg State University track & field team from 1988-91.
Schleupner, a 16-time All-Mason Dixon Conference selection, started his Bobcat athletic career in stellar fashion as a freshman in 1988 by winning a National Championship and garnering All-American honors as part of the nation’s top 4x100-meter relay team.
Schleupner’s most impressive year came as a junior in 1990 as he earned three All-American honors. During the indoor season, he earned three All-Mason Dixon Conference honors and was an All-American after finishing fourth in the 55-meter dash at the NCAA Championships.
During the outdoor season in the spring of 1990, he won three conference titles in the 100 and 200-meter dashes and the 4x100-meter relay. He went on to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Championships after finishing eighth in the 200-meter dash and third in the 4x100-meter relay.
As a senior in 1991, Schleupner earned two more Mason Dixon Championship titles in the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay team.
