Track … Four letters in four seasons. NCAA Division III All-American in the 1600-meter relay, 1979; his 400 meter leg of 46.9 in the NCAA finals was the fastest ever for an FSC runner at the time of his induction.

Won 5 NAIA District Championships; including four in 1978;the 400-meter dash, the high jump, the 400-meter relay and the 1600-meter relay. In 1977, he was a participant in the District mile-relay championship. Twice he won championships in the Mason-Dixon Conference Meet, both in 1978, winning the high-jump and the 440-yard relay.

Won a great number of first places in the many events in which he entered in dual and multi-team meets, and placed at least second or third in virtually all. Held FSC outdoor records in the high jump (6’10), 440 relay (41.8), 880 relay (1:28.75), mile relay (3:16.28), sprint medley (3:36.40) and high jump relay (19’5); indoor records in the high jump (6’8) and mile relay (3:27.2). Mike also held FSC Stadium records in the high jump, 440,440 relay, and mile relay. The outdoor marks in the 1600-meter and high jump relays still stood at the time of his induction.

Football … Three letters in three seasons. A fine defensive back, Mark started at safety all three seasons. Had four career interceptions.
