Track … Frostburg State’s one-man track team. Bucky still holds the 330-yd. Intermediate hurdles with times of 15.1 and 38.6 respectively.

At the time of graduation, he also held school records in the 440-yd. Intermediate hurdles (58.2), the pole vault (12’4.25”) and the triple jump (42’10.5”). Other marks include 6’.0 in the high jump and 20’11” in the long jump.

He also ran the 220 occasionally and once an the 880 and mile relays. Records are incomplete for his first three years, but his senior year he participated in seven meets: five dual, one triangular, and the M.I.C. championship meet. The 184 points he scored in those meets is the school record for one season.

He had individual point-scoring meets of 31,31, 28, 26, 24, 20, and 14 (the latter in the M.I.C. meet). Since no other FSC trackman has ever scored as many as 26 points in a meet, Bucky holds the school record here four times over. In those seven meets in 1967, he was entered in 42 events, winning 27, placing second in 11, an third in 3—thus placing in every event of the season.

He was undefeated in 14 hurdle events and placements were: 3 firsts and 3 seconds in the triple jump, the high jump, and the pole vault, plus one third in the latter, and 2 firsts, 3 seconds and 2 thirds in the long jump. There were 3 meets in which he won 5 events and placed second in one or two others.

Letters … Four letters in four years.
