At time of his induction he held these F.S.U. power-hitting records: most R.B.I.’s in a season (51 in ’85) and in a career (124); tied for most home runs in a career (24); most doubles in a season (14 in ’86); and tied for most triples in a season (7 in ’85). He ranks 2nd, or is tied for 2nd, in F.S.U. history seasonally in total bases (92 in’85), slugging average (.773 in ’85), hits (52 in ’85), and extra basehits (23 in ’86). He also ranked 2nd (or tied for 2nd) in 3 career categories: total bases (258), slugging avg. (.670) and extra basehits (58). His career .371 batting avg., 143 hits and 25 doubles rank third. 4-year starting shortstop.

Outstanding outside linebacker who led team in solo tackles with 47 in ’85, was 2nd with 35 in ’84 and 3rd with 41 in ’83. In 1985 he was 2nd on team with 135 tackles, 2nd on team sacks. In 1984 he was 2nd in total tackles for a loss and 4th in total tackles.

Scott turned in what may have been the greatest single game defensive performance in F.S.U. history vs. Westminster in 1984: 10 solo tackles, 8 assists, 6 tackles for loss, including 4 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery and a blocked field goal. From 1985 to 1990 he held the F.S.U. career interception record with 11, since broken.
