Nicole Bashaw enjoyed one of the top careers of any women's basketball player in Frostburg State history. A four-year letterwinner from 1989-93, she started 108 of the 109 games in which she played during her career and helped FSU to an impressive 88-22 overall record.
With Bashaw, the Bobcats won the 1990 Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship, advanced to the second round of the 1991 NCAA Division III Tournament and captured Eastern States Athletic Conference Tournament crowns in 1991, 1992 and 1993.
Bashaw made an immediate impact as a freshman, averaging 11.7 points and 9.8 rebounds to help FSU to a 22-6 record and the ECAC South Region Championship. Bashaw set career-highs with 28 points and 18 rebounds in an 85-49 win over Mary Washington in the ECAC semifinals.
As a sophomore, Bashaw ranked second on the team in both scoring (17.3) and rebounding (10.4) and was named to the ESAC All-Conference Team. The Bobcats posted a school-record 26-2 mark, won the ESAC Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Bashaw led FSU in scoring (16.5) and rebounding (7.2) her junior season as the Bobcats finished 22-6. She captained the squad to ESAC regular-season and tournament titles as well as a runner-up showing in the ECAC Tournament.
As a senior, Bashaw paced the Bobcats in scoring (16.2) and rebounding (9.8) again as the team finished 18-8 and won a third-straight ESAC crown. She was FSU's high-scorer 19 times and topped the team in rebounding 11 games, and she was named the ESAC Player of the Year as Bobcat Female Athlete of the Year.
At the time of her induction, Bashaw ranked second on FSU's all-time scoring chart with 1,675 points and was also third with 1,103 rebounds. She is also one of just four Bobcat women to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
