Soccer … Four letters in four years. All-South, 1953 and 1954. Started at an inside position all four seasons. Despite some lost records, Bill is known to have scored at least seven goals, one of which beat national power Slippery Rock in overtime. Three goals were scored on penalty kicks considered a specialty of his. F.S.T.C. had a combined record of 10-3-3 in his last two years, two of its best teams ever.

Baseball … Four letters in four years. The starting shortstop three seasons and third baseman the other. From existing box scores and newspaper records, Bill is known to have hit .375 in six of the team’s nine game in 1954, and .474 in five of ten games in 1955. Usually batted lead off but occasionally third or fourth. Generally regarded as F.S.T.C.’s best players from 1951-1955.

Basketball … Four letters in four years. As a regular starter as a freshman Bill led the team with 191 points, scoring 26 in one game and 24 in another. He was a usual starter as a sophomore and junior and came off the bench as a senior, when the team finished 15-5 and had 3 other F.S.U. Hall-of-Famers starting. In 1954 he scored 174 points, including a total of 59 in the last three games.
