Women’s Basketball Coach … 1978-79-present (at time of induction). At the time of his induction, Coach Crawley had compiled a record 346-148 (.700) in 19 years. The 346 wins ranks him in the top 10 in Division III. Jim’s teams have received 5 NCAA bids, twice reaching the Sweet 16. The Lady Bobcats received 7 ECAC South bids and won that crown 4 times (1984, ’86, ’88, ’90). In 1980-81, prior to women’s NCAA play, they reached the AIAW semi-finals. Eastern States Athletic Conference Coach-of-the-Year 3 times (1990-91, ‘91-92, ‘92-93), the result of winning the league championship those same years. Coach Crawley has had 17 consecutive winning seasons, the most of any coach in F.S.U. history.

Head Football Coach … 1968-1974. F.S.U. football achieved its first regional and national recognition under Jim’s leadership. In his 6 seasons as head coach he had a record of 33-28-3 (.541). The 7-1 record of 1970 was Frostburg’s best ever until 1989. The 3 consecutive winning seasons of 1970-72 (7-1, 6-3-1, 5-4) were not matched until 1991. Jim coached 15 members of the Bobcat Hall of Fame, most notably Bob Maddox who played in the N.F.L.

Men’s Basketball Coach … 1968-1970. In his two seasons as men’s basketball coach, Coach Crawley established a 24-23 record, matching him with Gimp Carrington as the only FSU coaches to have winning career records in three sports.
