Kristie Delbrugge was an outstanding two-sport athlete for Frostburg State University in the mid to late 1980’s. She was a four-year letter winner and point guard for the Bobcat women’s basketball team and a two-year letter winner for the women’s tennis team.

During her career, she helped the Bobcat basketball team to a 71-38 overall record and two Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in 1986 and 1988.

Delbrugge proved herself as one of the top point guards in school history as she left her mark all across the Frostburg State record books. She holds the program’s all-time mark in assists with 832, averaging an incredible 208 per season. She also holds three of the top four single-season assist records. As a senior, Delbrugge led the nation with 273 assists.

Delbrugge also lays claim to 12 of the top 13 single-game assists records including a school record 20 against Shenandoah in 1989.

As a women’s tennis player, Delbrugge posted a 22-4 overall singles record and combined for an 18-8 doubles mark. She was the ESAC singles champion in the 1988-89 and 1989-90 seasons and was doubles champion in 1989-90.

To wrap up her career as a senior, Delbrugge was named Frostburg State’s Female Athlete of the Year.
