Pete Tytus was a four-year letter winning goalkeeper for the Frostburg men's soccer team from 1989-92, helping the squad to 54 wins during his tenure including Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Championships in both 1989 and 1992.
Tytus opened his career by winning the Gill Gray Award as a freshman in 1989, given to a player who exemplifies the desire for excellence in his intellectual, physical and spiritual self.

As a senior Tytus closed his career by winning the ECAC Tournament MVP award while helping Frostburg to the ECAC South Region title behind 14 wins.

Tytus finished his career with 152 saves and 19 shutouts and holds school records in most shutouts in a season (12) and most consecutive shutouts (7). At the time of his nomination, Tytus also held the program record for best goals against average in a season (.53).
