190th Inductee
For nearly 20 years, David Tuel served as Frostburg’s team physician as well as the Medical Director for the FSU Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP).
During his 19-year career, Tuel provided medical care for hundreds of student-athletes and was an invaluable asset to the athletic department. Tuel often examined and treated student-athletes at his private practice in Oakland, Md. and made regular trips to campus to provide his expertise.
Tuel’s early diagnosis and treatment provided Frostburg student-athletes with exceptional medical care that allowed them to return to practice and competition sooner.
As Medical Director for the ATEP, Tuel often made presentations to athletic training students and staff members, reviewed student-athlete injuries with student athletic trainers and allowed students to observe various surgeries to help develop their knowledge of human anatomy.
As of the day of his induction, Tuel continues to serve as the Medical Director of the ATEP.
