Kevin Culbert is one of the most decorated football players in the history of the Frostburg State program following his standout four-year career.
 
Following his senior season in which he led NCAA Division III in sacks (17.0) and tackles for loss (33.0), Culbert was honored by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette as a First Team All-American, First Team All-South Region and the All-South Region Defensive Lineman of the Year. He also garnered D3football.com Second Team All-American and First Team All-South Region honors.
 
The Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) Defensive Player of the Year, Culbert was selected to play in the East Coast and Aztec Bowl games. He posted 100 tackles, 66 solo stops, broke up six passes, recovered three fumbles and blocked a field goal.
 
Culbert collected his first All-American award following his junior season as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) named him to their Honorable Mention All-American team. Don Hansen also placed Culbert on its Football Gazette All-American Third Team and All-South Region Third Team.
 
The ACFC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Culbert finished with 80 total tackles, three pass break ups, one recovered fumble, a blocked extra point and a safety.
 
Culbert also earned three preseason All-American honors heading into his junior season in 2004 before he was granted a redshirt due to injury.
 
He is fourth all-time among all four NCAA levels (FBS, FCS, II & III) in career tackles for loss (87.5) and he is seventh in season tackles for loss (33.0 - 2005), career pass sacks (38.5) and career tackles for loss per game (2.08).
 
Culbert posted 6.0 sacks against Apprentice as a senior and that mark stands as the 11th highest single-game mark in NCAA Division III history.
