Vicki Avey enters the Frostburg State Hall of Fame as a four-year letter winner as a distance runner for the women’s track and field team. She was a two-time All-Eastern College Athletic Conference selection, five-time Mason-Dixon Conference Champion and school record holder in five events.

She holds three individual school records: both the 3,000-meter indoor (10:22.15) and the 3,000-meter outdoor (10:25.00) and the 5,000-meter indoor (18:24.49). She also holds school records in two relays; the 4x800-meter relay (10:08.00) and the distance medley relay (12:46.00).

In her senior season, Avey was an All-Mason-Dixon Conference selection during the outdoor season and voted as Frostburg State’s Most Outstanding Runner.

She captured All-ECAC honors in the 5,000-meter run as a junior as well as All-Mason-Dixon Conference honors in both the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs. She also broke two of her own school records in the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs.

As a sophomore, Avey again earned All-ECAC and All-Mason-Dixon Conference honors, this time in the 3,000-meter run.

Avey had an outstanding freshman year setting three school records. She captured the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs in the outdoor season and set the 3,000-meter record in the indoor season.
