Ron Wallace was a two-time All-American and one of the best secondary players in Frostburg State football history. A three-year letter winner, Wallace helped the Bobcats rank among some the nation’s best defensive units throughout his career and is the school’s all-time leader in interceptions (19).

Wallace saved his best season for his senior year as he was named an AFCA Division III All-American at the defensive back position, a preseason All-American by College Football Preview while helping the Bobcats capture the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southwest Championship.

Wallace started all 11 games in his final year, making 35 total tackles while leading the team with seven interceptions, including a 45-yard pick for a touchdown. He was also a valuable special teams player as he returned six punts for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

As a junior, Wallace was selected as an Honorable Mention Hewlett-Packard All-American after making a career-high 72 total tackles with a forced fumble and a team-leading six interceptions for 46 yards and 17 pass break ups.

As a sophomore, Wallace helped Frostburg State to a runner-up finish in the ECAC Southeast Championship Game. He appeared in 10 games with six interceptions, for 109 yards and one touchdown. He was sixth on the team with 50 total tackles and was third with five pass breakups.

In his first year, he helped the Bobcats to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and victory with a 26-25 win over Wilkes in the opening round.
