Susan Mahoney was a three-time All-American for the Frostburg State University swimming and diving programs from 1984-87. She held six school records at the time of her graduation and still maintains three of those school marks upon her induction into the FSU Hall of Fame.
Just a three-year member of the swimming and diving team, Mahoney was voted the Most Outstanding Swimmer in her first year and was named the Most Valuable Swimmer in her final season. As a senior, she helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
She captured All-American honors in each of her three years in the 200-yard freestyle relay, serving as the anchor on all three squads.
Individually, she holds the school record in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.00) and is part of both the record-holding 200-yard freestyle (1:41.08) and 400-yard freestyle (3:46.50) relay teams.
