Mark Wells was a two-year member and All-American award winner for the Frostburg football program from 1989-90. He helped the Bobcats to their first two nine-win seasons in program history and FSU established a school with 13-straight wins over the two seasons.
Â
As a senior in ’90, Wells garnered Champion/USA Division III All-American Honorable Mention honors along with an ECAC All-Star award.
Â
An 11-game starter on the offensive line, Wells helped the 1990 team earn the program’s first-ever postseason bid as the Bobcats were selected to play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Championship (Bowl Game). That same team scored a then-school record 379 points and collected nine-straight victories to open the season.
Â
On a national scale, the 1990 squad ranked fourth in the nation in rushing offense (327.0 ypg), 20th in total offense (406.8) and seventh in scoring offense (36.7).
Â
As a junior in ’89, Wells helped Frostburg win a school record nine games and score 291 points.
