Craig Rotruck was one of the top power hitters to take the field for Frostburg State baseball. He smashed 24 career homeruns, which ties him for third place in the Bobcats career statistics. His 10 homeruns in the 1990 season are ranked as the fourth most in FSU history for a single season.
Rotruck undoubtedly had his best year in his senior season of 1990 as he was selected to the NCAA All-South Regional team and earned All-American honorable mention honors. He also recorded his best batting average of his three years with FSU as he hit .344 with 70 total bases and a .753 slugging percentage that is 10th most all-time for a single season.
For his career, Rotruck hit for a combined average of .333, while accumulating 82 hits, 49 runs scored and nine stolen bases. Rotruck collected 42 extra base hits, which led to 174 total bases throughout his three-year career.
Rotruck consistently led the Bobcats in most offensive categories during his three years of participation. He led the team in homeruns all three seasons, while also leading in RBIs and extra base hits in 1988 and 1990.
