Carlos Acker was a four-time All-American sprinter for the Frostburg State men’s track & field program from 1983-86. Acker helped the Frostburg track & field team capture the school's first National Championship team trophy at the 1986 NCAA Outdoor National Championships.

As a senior in 1986, Acker and his teammates won the national title in the 4x100-meter relay and established a meet record (40.39) that lasted for 15 years. That mark also remains a school record as of his induction.

A 10-time All-Mason-Dixon Conference selection and three-time conference champion, Acker earned All-American honors in the 4x100-meter relay in each of his four years in a Bobcat uniform.

Acker and the 4x100-meter relay team captured Mason-Dixon Conference Championships in 1983 and 1985 and the group captured runner-up honors in the event during the 1983 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
