Track and Field Competes at Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa.- The Frostburg State Track & Field teams went to the Susquehanna Multi & Invitational in their second competition of the indoor season. 
 
Sophomore Morgan Mathews finished runner-up in the pentathlon, as she picked up victories in the 800 meters, high jump, and shot put for the event. Other top-five finishes for the women included freshman Emmanuella Godswill earning fifth in the 60-meter dash (8.3 seconds) and sophomore Alexa Bradburn picking up a fourth-place finish in the weight throw (13.53 meters). 
 
For the men, sophomore Nathaniel Mesy had a fantastic meet, finishing first in the 200 meters (23.36) and third in the 400 meters (52.37). Fellow sophomore Nicholas Richardson would place fourth in the 200 (23.7) in a close race where the top 10 finishers were separated by less than a second.  
 
Sophomore Mark Vaughns earned a pair of top-three finishes, earning second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.71) and third in the pole vault (3.8 meters), with freshman Thomas McCoy taking second in the event (3.95 meters). 
 
Freshman Marquis Burks and junior Justin Dunklin finished third and fourth, respectively, in the heptathlon, with Burks winning the shot put and 1000 meters and Dunklin being victorious in the pole vault.  
 
Junior Jared Johnson completed his day of throwing with a second-place finish in the weight throw (14.57 meters) and getting fourth in the shot put (12.98 meters).
