Distance Medley Relay Leads Men's Track & Field at VMI Winter Relays

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Frostburg State Men's Track & Field team took part in the two-day VMI Winter Relays across Friday and Saturday, placing 11th among all schools.

FSU's best event came in the distance medley relay, where the team of sophomore Mason Worley and juniors Jaxon Jones, Jack Hynes, and Gage Osborne placed second overall at 10:26.95. Jones and Osborne would later earn top-10 finishes in the Mile, where the former took third with a PR of 4:23.93, while the latter earned seventh in the 800m at 1:57.20.

Among the field events, sophomore Blake Stevens set a personal record 1.95m in the high jump, tying for the highest mark in the event but needing the most attempts to get there, putting him third. The Bobcats put a pair of athletes in the top-10 of the pole vault, as freshman Chase Severtson came fifth with a personal best 3.95m, as senior Ryan Schlauch tied for seventh at 3.65m.

Rounding out the meet, redshirt junior Ire Maboudou hit a PR 16.20m in the weight throw, earning sixth overall and improving his fourth-place standing in school history.
