GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State men's track & field team collected six wins and finished second place overall at the Mason-Dixon Invitational at Gettysburg College, Saturday.
Final ResultsFSU collected 174.5 points and finished behind host and winner Gettysburg, which registered 208 points.
Sophomore J.R. Lowery led the way with a pair of wins for the Bobcats. He hit an ECAC qualifying mark in the shot put with a toss of 14.52 meters. He also took home victory in the hammer throw with a school record toss of 47.57 meters.
Junior Devin Francillon took home a win and collected three top-three finishes on the afternoon. He won the 400-meter hurdles (56.67), took second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.86) and was third in the high jump (1.70 meters).
Frostburg State posted two more wins in the field events as well. Junior Curtis Buckland picked up a win in the discus and qualified for the ECAC Championships at 44.41 meters. He also added third in the shot put (13.18 meters). Junior Chris Rickell earned a win in the high jump at 1.85 meters.
The Bobcats capped the meet with a win in the 4x400-meter relay. Senior Matt Collins, sophomore Sterling Hardy and freshmen Ibrahima Barry and Xzavier Alvarez earned the victory in 3:35.44.
Grabbing second-place finishes were junior Ryan Hipps in the 5,000-meter run (18:25.28) and senior Trey Davis in the hammer throw (44.90 meters).
The Bobcats return to action next Saturday at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg.
