MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team placed sixth overall at the MEC Outdoor Championships held from Sunday through Tuesday.

Day one began in the Hammer Throw, where sophomore Sydney Johnson took fourth overall at 48.84m. Later during the Javelin, sophomore Sarah Heasley set a personal record 30.11m. Going into day two's field events, junior Bella Mastria (5.41m) and freshman Shekinah Jamison (5.39m) each had scoring spots in the Long Jump, taking seventh and eighth, respectively.

In the Pole Vault, sophomore Reghan Sivic took fifth at 2.85m, while freshman Nevaeh Carter-Booth tied for seventh at 2.55m. Closing out the evening in the 3000m Steeplechase, junior Hannah Schauman placed fifth at 11:56.89, while classmate Paige Etnoyer set a PR of 12:04.77 to finish among the scoring spots in eighth.

On day three, Jamison put herself on the podium with an 11.50m in the Triple Jump to take third in closing out the field events, as the Bobcats enjoyed more success on the track. Mastria and senior Valerie Boards each qualified for the finals in the 100m and 200m, taking third (12.38) and fourth (12.42), respectively, in the former event, then Boards (25.07) took second while Mastria came third (25.09) in the latter event.

Mastria and Boards joined junior Lucy Crowe, and freshman Abby Mastria to secure third in the 4x100m at 47.71, then the same foursome finished in the same place in the 4x400m relay at 3:56.99. Bella Mastria (16.08) and freshman Madison Medley (16.21) each scored in the 100m hurdles final at sixth and seventh respectively. Crowe (59.61) also had a scoring spot at eighth in the 400m.

Frostburg totaled 67.5 points on the day, coming just 2.5 points shy of Glenville State and West Liberty in a tie for fourth while finishing 1.5 points better than Davis & Elkins in seventh.
