HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Track & Field team placed seventh overall at the MEC Indoor Championships across Saturday and Sunday.

Junior Bella Mastria and senior Valerie Boards were the top two point-scorers for FSU, each taking top-five places during the sprints. Mastria secured third overall and Honorable Mention All-MEC in both the 60m (7.74) and the 60m hurdles (8.87), setting personal records in each event, while also placing herself second in program history for both. She also added a fifth-place finish in the 200m (25.40), setting yet another PR as the third-fastest all-time. Also in the 60m hurdles, freshman Madison Medley had a career-best 9.42 in the finals, placing her sixth for the event and eighth in school history. Boards' top finish came in the 200m at 25.26 to take Honorable Mention All-MEC, while she placed fifth in the 60m at 7.80.

In the field events, freshman Shekinah Jamison enjoyed a pair of solid performances in the triple jump and long jump, taking Honorable Mention All-MEC in the former at 11.60m then placing sixth in the latter, with her 5.45m putting her third in school history. Sophomore Sydney Johnson picked up the final All-MEC accolade of the meet, earning Honorable Mention in the weight throw at 16.54m, breaking her own program record once again.

Sophomore Reghan Sivic came up just shy of a podium finish, earning fourth in the pole vault at 2.75m, tying her career-high mark, while freshman Neveah Carter-Booth set a PR in eighth at 2.45m. During the mid-distance events, junior Lucy Crowe (1:00.83) and freshman Leah Magda (2:21.51) each earned scoring places in the 400m and 800m, respectively.

The Bobcats also impressed in each of the relays, as the team of Magda, freshman Abby Mastria, and juniors Paige Etnoyer and Emily Wishart placed fourth in the DMR at 12:39.52, blowing past their previous program record set earlier this season. Closing out the meet in the 4x400m relay, Bella Mastria, Crowe, Magda, and Boards also came fourth at 4:02.61.

Frostburg's total of 62 points put them just behind Glenville State (68.5) in fifth and Davis & Elkins (62) in sixth, while finishing well above West Virginia State (31) in eighth. FSU will next prepare for its outdoor season beginning Wednesday, March 25 at the Raleigh Relays and Saturday, March 28 at Towson. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
