FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team defeated West Chester 6-1 in their Saturday home match.

Prior to the meet, FSU honored its two seniors in Alyssa Kush and Julia Ramos as they round out their Bobcat careers.

Frostburg hit the meet running by sweeping the doubles matches, as Ramos and Kush took theirs 6-4 while juniors Patricia Castejon and Ximena Ku won 6-1 and classmates Ella Troxell and Claudia Coombes were victorious 7-5.

Continuing their dominance into singles play, FSU took five of the six available points, with each win coming by sweep. Ramos (7-5, 6-2) got going at No. 1, while Ku (6-4, 6-1), Castejon (6-0, 6-1), and Coombes (6-1, 6-3) followed at Nos. 3, 4, and 6, respectively. Kush held a 7-5 lead after her first set before her opponent had to retire for the 6-1 final.

With the win, FSU improves to 12-8 on the year, while West Chester drops to 8-8. The Bobcats will next hit the road for their regular season finale against Fairmont State on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
