BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Senior Julia Ramos was named the MEC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, as announced by the league office Monday. 

Ramos went unbeaten in both singles and doubles play during the week, helping the team to a 2-1 record. Across three matches at No. 1 singles, she didn't drop a single set, defeating her opponent from Division I Hampton 6-4, 6-4, beating Elizabeth City State 6-0, 6-2, and over Shaw 6-2, 6-1. In doubles play, she partnered with Alyssa Kush at the No. 1 spot for a 6-1 win over ECSU and a 6-3 victory over Shaw, with their match against Hampton not allowed to finish.
