FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team defeated Millersville 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon in their home meet.

MU got off to a quick start, earning the doubles point with 7-6 and 6-4 wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. Seniors Cole Alcala and German Diaz were able to prevent a doubles sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 1.

Singles play was dominated by the Bobcats, taking five of the six available points. Alcala (6-0, 6-4) and Diaz (6-2, 6-2) each cruised at the top two spots, while freshman Tiago Iser earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Freshman Sergi Rodriguez also cruised in a 6-4, 6-0 win, while classmate Gabriel Carrillo took a tough 7-5 opening set before winning 6-3 to complete his sweep and make the meet final 5-2.

With the win, Frostburg improves to 4-2 on the year, while Millersville drops to 1-3. Due to a postponement of FSU's next match against Davis & Elkins, the Bobcats' will be back on the court Tuesday, March 17 with a road match against Hampton at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
