FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team defeated West Chester 4-3 in their Saturday home match.

Prior to the meet, FSU honored its four seniors in Noah Fisher, Cole Alcala, German Diaz, and Jason Haley as they round out their Bobcat careers.

WCU started the better of the two teams, as they secured doubles wins at Nos. 1 and 3 to earn the meet point. Freshmen Sergi Rodriguez and Gabriel Carrillo were able to pick up a 6-3 victory at No. 2.

Frostburg fought back in singles play, as Alcala (6-1, 6-1) and Rodriguez (6-3, 6-1) each cruised to straight-set wins as Nos. 1 and 4, respectively. In the two spot, freshman Tiago Iser also earned a sweep at 6-1, 6-4, as Carrillo would secure the meet-winning point at No. 3, battling to a 6-3, 6-7, 7-5 victory.

With the win, FSU improves to 7-9 on the year, while West Chester drops to 5-8. The Bobcats will return home to face Salem (WV) on Thursday, April 23 at 3 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
