GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team suffered a sweep in their Spring season opener against IUP by a 7-0 final.

FSU opened the meet on a positive front, as seniors Alyssa Kusha and Julia Ramos combined for an emphatic 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. The Crimson Hawks swiftly responded, winning 6-1 and 6-4 in the other pair of matches to take the meet point.

IUP then continued their momentum into singles play, taking each of the six matches en route to the 7-0 final. Kush came closest to taking a win, earning a 6-1 first set victory before dropping the next two, while junior Claudia Coombes also battled in a 6-4, 6-4 loss.

With the result, Frostburg drops to 2-3 on the year, while the Crimson Hawks improve to 3-2. The Bobcats will next travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday, September 14 at 4 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
