HERSHEY, Pa. - The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team began their spring season on the road against Bloomsburg on Saturday, falling 5-2 to the Huskies.
The Huskies took the doubles point winning two matches, with senior Matt Bolen and sophomore Viktor Bobcan, along with junior Cole Alcala and senior Cian Cabodevilla putting up a close score in their sets of competition.
Playing in the No. 1 spot of singles, Alcala picked up a win for Frostburg, taking the final two sets 6-2 and 6-4. Bolen racked up another win for FSU in singles competition, winning his match 7-5, 6-3. Junior Noah Fisher, playing in the third spot, had a tight match going to a tie breaker in the third, starting with a 6-3 win in the first set.
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 1-1 on the year, while Bloomsburg improves to 3-0. The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, March 9 when the team plays Harford on the road. For more information visit frostburgsports.com
