FROSTBURG. Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell to Millersville at home on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 5-2.
Two doubles pairs for Frostburg picked up wins on the day, with the sophomore duo of Cole Alcala and German Diaz defeating their opponents in No. 1 doubles with a score of 6-3, while the No. 3 pairing of freshman Field Myatt and junior Matt Bolen won their match with a 6-3 score as well, earning FSU the doubles point.
Diaz was the lone Bobcat to earn a victory in singles play, coming out on top 6-4, 6-0 in his match at No. 2. Bolen took his singles match to three sets, dropping narrowly with a 6-4, 3-6, 2-10 final, as Myatt put up a fight in his match as well, falling shy in a 1-6, 6-7 score.
With the loss, FSU falls to 3-7 on the year while Millersville improves to 7-6. The Bobcats have a quick turnaround as they are back at home Monday, April 8 to face West Virginia Wesleyan at 4 PM for their first conference match of the year.
