LEWISBURG, Pa. – A trio of Frostburg State Men's Track & Field athletes competed at the two-day Bison Open and Invite from Friday to Saturday.
 
Senior Marquise Burks, junior Mason Reed, and freshman Blake Stevens each took their chances against competition from NCAA Division II and III teams during the Indoor Heptathlon. Burks had the top finish in fourth place, third-best among Division II athletes, with a total score of 4,761. In one of his best events, he won the shot put at 12.77m, while also taking a pair of runner-ups in the high jump (1.86m) and the 60-meter hurdles (8.65).
 
Reed posted a final score of 3,846, with his best finish coming in sixth during the 60m hurdles (9.22), while Stevens finished at 3,250 points, which is sixth in program history, as his best event was eighth place in the 1000m run (3:08.53).
 
Frostburg will return in the new year to travel to Youngstown State on Friday, January 17. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
