Multiple See Top-15 Finishes in Men's Track & Field Season Opener

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State Men's Indoor Track & Field team opened their season Friday competing in the Youngstown Icebreaker.
 
Frostburg placed in multiple events racking up a handful of top-10 and top-20 finishes on the day, with the top placement coming from sophomore Aubrey Ross, who threw a 13.55m in the weight throw for third place.  Senior Tom McCoy was next with a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a 4.90m height, already setting a new record and breaking his all-time record from last year.  Sophomore Tyler McGraw, also competing in the weight throw, saw a 12.67m finish for eight place, while junior Ire Maboudou placed just outside the top-10 for the Bobcats, throwing a 12.36m for 11th place. 
 
Freshman Dorian Grubb started out his collegiate career with a ninth place finish in the triple jump with a 12.77m tally.  Sophomore Dalton Kasekamp went on to take 11th in the shot put with a throw of 13.05m, while freshman Andrew Highland (12.63m) and sophomore Tyler McGraw (11.90m) saw 13th and 16th to finish out the field events for FSU.
 
Sophomore Gage Osborne started Frostburg off in the running events with a ninth place finish in the mile off a 4:29.11 time, while junior Brandon Stein and sophomore Isayah Stewart sat in 15th and 16th place with runs of 4:42.22 and 4:42.40.  Osborne went on to see ninth place in the 3000m with a time of 9:18.66, while sophomore Jack Hynes earned 10th in the 800m, clocking a 2:00.15 finish. 
 
Sophomore Ethan Wilt received 17th place in the 400m off a 50.49 time, while junior Justin Dowell (51.26) and freshman Mason Worley (51.72) had the next two best times for FSU seeing 22nd and 26th place.  Freshman Cohen Arbogast ran the best time for the Bobcats in the 200m, placing 32nd in a huge race with a 23.04 time.  The relay team of senior Paul James, Dowell, Arbogast, and Hynes worked together to take fifth place in the 4x400m with a finish of 3:25.30. 
 
Continuing their weekend, Frostburg next goes to Lewisburg, PA for the Bison Open & Multis that began on Friday, December 6 and will end Saturday, December 7.  For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
