FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team swept Shippensburg aside in their first Fall match of the year by a score of 7-0.
 
FSU came out with wins in each of their doubles matches, as the freshmen pairing of Ella Troxell and Patricia Castejon dominated 6-0 to kick things off. Junior Mariaspa Kotsiou and freshman Lauren Ceballos followed up with a 6-1 decision, followed by juniors Lorena Pintar and Julia Ramos rounding out play by winning 6-3.
 
All six went on to earn singles victories as well, with Ramos impressing at the No. 1 spot with a clean 6-0, 6-0 win. No Bobcat dropped more than two games in total, as the second through sixth spots went to Pintar (6-2, 6-0), Kotsiou (6-1, 6-0), Ceballos (6-1, 6-0), Castejon (6-1, 6-0), and Troxell (6-1, 6-0) all adding to the match sweep, respectively.
 
With the win, Frostburg improves to 1-0 on the Fall season, while Shippensburg falls to 1-5. FSU returns to match play on Tuesday, October 3 to host District of Columbia at 2 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
