Women's Tennis Earns Third Straight Win

ELKINS, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team had a clean sweep of 7-0 against Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon for their third straight win. . 

In the doubles competition, all three teams earned victories for Frostburg.  Sophomore Lorena Pintar and freshman Alyssa Kush knotted the first win with a score of 6-3, with sophomore Julia Ramos Bentham and senior Madison Toothman getting the second victory with a 6-1 score.  Senior Immanuella Odiong and sophomore Femke Hofkamp secured the third doubles win for the Bobcats, and the doubles competition sweep. 

Frostburg kept their momentum going, sweeping the singles competition as well.  Ramos Bentham took the win in No.1 singles by a 6-0, 6-4 score while Pintar recorded the next singles point with a score of 4-6, 7-6, 10-2.  Kush took her singles match as well, recording the 6-0, 6-1 victory with ease.  Odiong brought home the last win of the day, defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-0.  Senior Rabiatu Ladan and Toothman both won their matches by default.   

With the win, FSU improves to 11-7 on the year, while Davis & Elkins falls to 1-7.  The Bobcats will be back in action on Wednesday, April 12 as they host Fairmont State at 3 PM.  For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
