FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg Women's Tennis team fell just shy in their senior day match against West Chester, losing by a final score of 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Before the match, FSU honored seniors Betsy HIxson, Rabiatu Ladan, Immanuella Odiong, and Madison Toothman as all four round out their Bobcat careers.

The team of sophomores Julia Ramos and Mariaspa Kotsiou earned the only doubles win for the Bobcats, coming out ahead in a marathon 7-6 match, though the Golden Rams took the other two matches to earn the doubles point.

Sophomore Lorena Pintar earned the first singles victory for FSU, losing the first set, but winning the next two to take the match 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Ramos was also successful in singles play, taking her match with ease with a score of 6-0, 6-2, while her doubles partner Kotsiou also secured a straight set win at 6-1, 6-4 . Freshman Alyssa Kush put up a solid effort in her No. 1 match, but fell in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.

With the loss, Frostburg moves to 8-7 on the year, while West Chester improves to 4-6. The Bobcats will go on the road for their next match as they will face West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday, April 4 for an MEC match time of 4 PM.
