HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team got their second win of the week, defeating Millikin by a close score of 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Frostburg started off with grabbing two points in the doubles competition with an 8-0 sweep by the duo of freshman Alyssa Kush and sophomore Lorena Pintar, and an 8-5 victory by the team of sophomores Julia Ramos Bentham and Mariaspa Kotsiou.
Kush would continue her success earning a singles point, defeating her opponent in three sets 7-5, 5-7, 10-5. Ramos Bentham also tacked on a singles point with an easy 6-2, 6-0 victory. Kotsiou earned the Bobcats their third singles point of the match, winning by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Femke Hofkamp put up a good effort in her singles match, falling by a close score of 4-6, 6-7.
With the win, Frostburg improves to 6-6 on the year while Millikin moves to 11-4. The Bobcats will return to their home court to face California (Pa.) on Wednesday, March 29 with the match set for 2 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com
