Men's Tennis Falls to Oberlin as Diaz, Alcala, Carden Pick Up Individual Wins

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Frostburg State men's tennis team fell to Oberlin in a tight contest on Monday afternoon by a final score of 4-3.

The Bobcat freshman pairing of German Diaz and Cole Alcala had a convincing win 6-0 in doubles to start things off, but Oberlin would take the doubles point to start off the match by winning the other two doubles pairings.

Frostburg would split the singles matches with Oberlin. In the battle of No. 1 singles, Diaz would pick up another win, taking the match 6-2 and 6-0. Alcala also kept things going with a 7-6, 7-5 victory, followed by Junior Del Carden picking up the third FSU point in a back-and-forth battle, trading the first two sets 6-4, 4-6 before pulling out a third set tiebreak win, 10-5.
