FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell to MEC opponent West Liberty with a score of 5-2 on Thursday afternoon.
The freshman duo of German Diaz and Cole Alcala got the solo win for the Frostburg in doubles play, defeating their opponents 6-4. Sophomore Matt Bolen and junior Del Carden fell just shy of a doubles victory, with a hard fought match ending in a score of 6-7 (3-7 tiebreak).
Diaz and Alcala continued their success in singles play, with Diaz getting a point with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 score. Alcala earned another point for the Bobcats with 6-2, 6-1 sweep.
With the loss, FSU goes to 1-6 on the season while West Liberty improves to 6-2. Frostburg will go on the road for their next match as they face Millersville on Saturday, March 18 with a match time set for 1 PM. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
