HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Frostburg State women's track team competed in day one of the Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Day one of the championships would feature the first half of the Heptathlon events. Sophomore Marquise Burks would have a good showing. Burks set a meet record in the shot put with a throw of 12.93 and first place. He would also take second in the high jump(1.830 and third in both the 60 meter(7.42) and long jump(6.06). Freshman Mason Reed also competing in the heptathlon took fourth in each of the events.

During the prelims for the 400 sophomore Nate Mesy would break the school record with a time of 49.24 the second fastest time run on the day.

Junior Jonathan Jenkins to fifth place in the long jump at 6.56 meters.

The pole vault has been a strong event for the Bobcats all season. Sophomore Thomas McCoy and Freshman Brayden Ecker would both hit 4.45 and finish third and fourth. This would cap off day one of the championships and send the Bobcats into third overall at 25.5
