FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team earned the sweep over Shepherd, defeating the Rams 7-0 at home on Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore Alyssa Kush and freshman Lauren Ceballos earned the lone match point of doubles play for FSU, defeating their opponents 6-2. Juniors Julia Ramos Bentham and Lorena Pintar fell in their doubles match 7-5, while the team of freshmen Ella Troxell and Patricia Castejon won by default.
The Bobcats swept singles play with Ramos kicking things off with a hard fought 7-5, 7-6 win. Kush and Pintar had no problem in their matches, going on to win 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-1. Ceballos was credited with the 6-0, 6-4 victory, while Castejon and Troxell both won by default once more.
With the win, Frostburg moves to 3-1 on the year while Shepherd falls to 0-1. FSU will stay at home to face Harford Community College at 1 PM on Saturday, October 21. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
