FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team took on Salem (WV) in their penultimate regular season match, falling 7-0 to the Tigers.
The day started off well with a 6-3 doubles victory from sophomore Origen Grear and graduate Desire Johnson, though Salem took the doubles point with victories in the other two matches. The Bobcats had a couple of narrow losses in singles matches, with Johnson and freshman Matt Bolen going the distance in a pair of three-set matches. Johnson was honored during the match for senior day, having competed in his final collegiate season for the Bobcats.
With the loss, FSU falls to 2-9 in the Spring season, while the Tigers improve to 3-12. Frostburg returns to action tomorrow, April 24 for their final regular season match of the year at home against Davis & Elkins, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
