FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team dropped a narrow 4-3 contest to West Virginia State at home on Tuesday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets started strong, winning the doubles point with a pair of wins, though FSU did pick up a victory with the pairing of junior Caleb Beidle and sophomore Del Carden securing a 6-1 win. In singles play, graduate Desire Johnson went the distance in a three-set win, while freshman Matt Bolen also added a point with a 6-1, 6-2 straight set win. Frostburg secured their final point with a forfeit in the No. 6 singles, but it wouldn't be enough, as WVSU secured enough wins to seal the match victory.
With the loss, the men fall to 2-5 on the Spring season, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 2-8. FSU is back on the courts Friday, April 15 for a home match against Millersville set for 3 p.m. Information and updates will be posted at frostburgsports.com.
