WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team picked up a 6-1 road win over West Chester on a cold and windy Sunday afternoon.
In doubles play, sophomore Del Carden and junior Caleb Beidle kicked off the match with a 6-2 win, then graduate Desire Johnson and sophomore Origen Grear clinched the doubles point with a marathon 7-6 tiebreak win.
Beidle had the longest-lasting match, as he came from a set behind to win the next two sets 6-3, 10-7. Johnson and Grear also picked up singles victories, as well as freshmen Matt Bolen and Eli Best, to take the meet 6-1.
With the win, FSU improves to 2-3 in the Spring season, while WCU falls to 1-3. The men are back in action Wednesday, March 30 for a road trip to Fairmont State, with the meet scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. For information and updates stay tuned at frostburgsports.com.
