Forster Sits In Third Place After First Day At Messiah

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Frostburg senior Bradley Forster is competing at the Messiah Multi today and tomorrow for the fourth and final time and he currently sits in third place overall after the first five events.
 
The Myersville, Md. native, has 2,951 points and currently sits in second place among the collegiate competitors. There are four non-collegiate athletes that comprise the 11 competitor field.
 
Forster has increased his point total in his three previous visits to Messiah and Thursday was a great start as he is nearly 250 points higher than last year's mark following day one.
 
Forster opened Thursday's competition with a win in the 100-meter dash in 11.66 and followed that up with fifth in the long jump at 6.13 meters (20ft. 1.5in.) and fifth in the high jump at 1.66 meters (5ft. 5.25in.).
 
Forster also added sixth in the shot put at 9.44 meters (30ft. 11.75in.) and capped the first day with sixth in the 400-meter dash in 53.67.
 
Forster returns to action tomorrow at 2:30 pm. His first event will be the 110-meter hurdles, following by the discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500-meter run.
